Coach Georgio was born and raised in San Francisco. He grew up in the Sunset district playing basketball, baseball, and soccer. Although he played all these sports throughout grade school, basketball has always been his passion and has been the sport he continued to play until college.
The son of Coach Sideco, the 2018 CASADA CIF-SF & OAK Section AD of the Year, Coach G grew up in the basketball gym. When he didn’t have games of his own, he would assist his mother at the gym by doing the clock or keeping the scorebook. They are close; she coached him up until high school where he went on to play at Riordan and Oceana.
After High School, Georgio moved to New Orleans for five years where he led volunteer groups that would come down to rebuild homes post Katrina. This is where his joy for coaching/leading began. He studied Athletic Training at Immaculata University in Pennsylvania before moving back to San Francisco.
Always looking up to his mom, he knew he wanted to coach basketball at the high school level. In 2015, Coach G became a Fitness Professional, coaching people through their fitness journey. In 2018, he took on the JV Head Coach position at Immaculate Conception Academy in the Mission. In his first season coaching, he took his girls to the semi finals. After two seasons at ICA, he has joined the coaching staff at Archbishop Riordan High School as the JV Head Coach of the new girls program. He’ll be working alongside Coach Will Watkins and Coach Mike Slade.
