Note:  Players will not be able to participate in tryouts unless the registration process is completed.

There is no fee to try out.

 


Program Details & Philosophy

Bay City Basketball’s AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) Team program is a competitive, developmental basketball experience that provides players with the tools to develop their fundamental team basketball skills as well as individual concepts necessary to take their game to the next level.

Through persistence and commitment, the Bay City Basketball coaching staff will teach players values of integrity, respect for self and opponents, selflessness, responsibility, teamwork, tenacity, and leadership. The Bay City Basketball youth program seeks to develop the student athletes’ life skills and personal growth through the sport of basketball.

Positive reinforcement serves as the basis of our coaching philosophy. We are highly competitive and will push our players to be the best that they are capable of and at the end of the day we value team and personal growth over winning. Bay City Basketball offers competitive travel AAU Basketball teams for Boys and Girls ages 8-18. The spring/summer season runs from March through early August, and will consist of 25-40 games and focused team workouts each week with our highly trained coaching staff.  Our supplemental fall season runs from September through early November and provides each team with 15-25 games in AAU leagues and tournaments in the Bay Area.  Our girls' program also offers a 12-15 game Winter program with practices from November-February.

Our teams will compete in various tournaments and or leagues such as: The City League (Fall season, San Francisco), Fab 48 or Jam on it Nationals (Las Vegas), Coca Cola Nationals (Anaheim) , Nike Hoop Summit (Portland), SGV Aloha Challenge (Anaheim) . Bay Area tournaments including Oakland Rebels Easter Classic, 4 Ballers Only Tournaments and  G365 events.

Gear: New players will receive a Bay City Basketball gear package which includes our custom game jersey, practice jersey and one new gear item.

Tryouts are held in early March for the spring/summer season and in late August for the fall season.  


Bay City Basketball is dedicated to:

  • Providing Bay Area youth with the chance to prepare themselves for the high school and collegiate basketball level.
  • Offering high-level coaching that aims to develop a strong repertoire of team/ individual skills, as well as deep understanding of the inner workings of the game.
  • Providing Bay Area youth with positive mentoring and role models to help them achieve in life outside of the basketball gymnasium.
  • Maintaining focus on the development of the complete student athlete placing a high emphasis on academic achievement.

Bay City Basketball youth tournaments are an extension of these principles. We seek to develop a strongly competitive tournaments where teams can come together and compete in a safe, challenging, and enjoyable environment where sportsmanship is of the utmost importance from players, coaches, and fans.
